A Remarkable Weekend of Faith and Transformation

We are delighted to share that Kairos #12 at Edinburgh Correctional Facility was a truly inspiring and God-filled weekend. The experience was nothing short of remarkable, and we're excited to report on the positive impact it had on the lives of 24 men. A Powerful Weekend of Spiritual Renewal During this Kairos weekend, the Edinburgh Correctional Facility was filled with the spirit of hope, love, and faith. The dedicated team of volunteers and the men who participated in the program came together to create a powerful and transformative experience. Through heartfelt discussions, prayer, worship, and reflection, these men were given an opportunity to explore their faith and connect with God in a profound way. 24 Men Touched by God's Love Throughout the weekend, 24 men had the chance to witness and feel the overwhelming love of God. It was a testament to the power of faith, community, and the potential for transformation within the correctional system. These men were shown that there is hope, redemption, and the possibility of a brighter future through their faith journey. We want to express our deepest gratitude to all the volunteers, supporters, and participants who made Kairos #12 a resounding success. It is through your dedication and commitment that we are able to bring the message of God's love to those who need it most. Moving Forward with Hope As we look to the future, we are excited about the positive impact that this Kairos weekend will have on the lives of these 24 men. The seeds of transformation have been sown, and we remain dedicated to supporting their spiritual journey and personal growth in the days, months, and years to come. Thank you for your continued support and prayers. Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of those seeking hope, redemption, and the love of God.

The Kairos By The Numbers

Kairos is an amazing ministry bringing the love of God to incarcerated men & women in 494 prisons in 10 countries around the work.   Building Christian communities where they are needed most.  This changing of of hearts while in prison also unexpectedly helps lower revision rates.   In the USA there are around 2.3 million people currently in the nation's prisons or jails and with recidivism rates as high a 30%   it is a huge problem,  and one that  the Kairos ministry can have a huge impact on as shown in this study by the State of Florida. Because of this the Kairos programs has gained the respect of many correctional programs. In the state of Indiana Kairos is in 16 facilities where we also help lower recidivism  Kairos Reduces Recidivism Rates In a study of 505 inmates released from Florida prisons, the recidivism rate was 15.7% among those who had participated in one Kairos session, and 10% among those...

A Conversation About Kairos

One of the things I like to do when I am getting ready to go on a new Kairos weekend is to watch any new Kairos Videos I can find on YouTube. This video is one of the best I have come across in a while.  This guy shares why the Kairos Ministry is important not just for the participants going through the weekend but to himself personally as a volunteer.  Sometimes I think that part of the ministry is overlooked or maybe taken for granted. This ministry allows you an opportunity to become God's servant in a way that is hard to explain and has to be experienced to understand.    I know that I am not alone in feeling this way abut Kairos because I know many volunteers that have been working in this ministry for 10, 15, 20 years some never stop once they start until they leave this world to be with God.  I genuinely believe that the Kairos Ministry is a gift from God.   If you have time, watch the video and say a prayer to God thanking him for everything ...

Leader's Comments for Edinburgh # 9

Praise the Lord God Almighty! From the very start of this adventure, prayers have been lifted from so many sources. From the start of Team Meeting #1 on July 13th to the end of the closing ceremony on September 29th, the presence and power of God has been welcomed and joyfully received! Our key Scripture directing us for Edinburgh #9 is 1 Cor. 13:13. "So faith, hope, love abide, these three, but the greatest of these is love!" The reason this verse resonated with us is the desired impact on our 24 participants to be long-term, even eternal. We believe that indeed has happened. All 24 men starting the weekend with us, stayed the entire weekend and received crosses and Bibles. Some met individually with team members for prayer and counsel, but all participated in their family groups. A change in the participants by Sunday was evidenced by smiles, sharing, singing, praying, and hugs seen throughout the entire room. Several men shared at an open mic, closing or shared persona...
